How to clean your Computer?

Simple and easy steps to take care of your computer

When was the last time you cleaned your computer? In today’s time’s the most important aspect of healthy living is to maintain hygiene. One must not ignore the electronic items we use on daily basis.  These simple steps will help you to keep your computers clean and help them run in the best shape.

You will need the following items to clean your units.

  • Cleaning liquid.
  • Bottled water.
  • Can of compressed air, available at many types of stores.
  • Lint-free cloth like the kind used for cleaning eyeglasses.
  • Cotton Swabs.

Do not use tap water, mineral water, or household window cleaners. Do not use paper towels, facial tissues, or scratchy or abrasive cloths.

Tips to clean the computer

  • Before doing anything, you need to turn off your device and unplug it. If your laptop has a removable battery, remove it. Remember electrical current and liquid really don’t go together.
  • Mix the cleaning liquid and water.
  • Dampen the lint-free cloth with the cleaning solution. It should be slightly moistened, not wet. Never spray anything liquid directly on the unit as it can cause damage to the hardware.

Clean the Case Outside

Use the damp cloth to wipe down the exterior of the laptop. Then, open the lid and wipe the areas around the keyboard with the damp cloth. You can use cotton swabs to clean the corners.
Clean the body of the desktop with a damp cloth. Be careful when going around ports, you don't want any liquid getting in there.

Clean the Display Screen

Clean the display using a new lint -free cloth (don't spray any cleaning liquid directly on the screen). Use gentle circular motions or wipe the screen from left to right, top to bottom.

Clean the Keyboard

Turn the laptop upside down. Use a can of compressed air to loosen and remove dirt, crumbs, and anything else stuck in the keys. Dampen some cotton swabs and wipe them over and in between the keys. Make sure the swabs are just damp, and not wet. If you use an external mouse, you might want to clean it too. Optical mice, which use light to detect surface area, require no internal cleaning—but the outside can get sticky over time.

Ensure the unit is dried completely before turning it on.

Take care of your unit!
